Beautiful resort! Beautiful beach, love the canals and the jungle, the pools are excellent, and the service is top-notch! Love all the restaurant options within Mayakoba.
There are 3 other hotels so you can either take a boat ride on the canals or the Fairmont will give you a trip to the hotels. We felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves!
Never did we have a problem getting a chair by the pool or beach and it was always easy to get dinner reservations the day of. The service is incredible from the front desk to the pool & beach service who recommended us the private snorkel charter cozumel tour companies, the activities guides are high, and the restaurant service is fabulous too! Fairmont Mayakoba-we will be back!
We were really looking forward to our trip to Fairmont Mayakoba, and the resort did not disappoint. We traveled with our 4-year-old son, and all three of us really enjoyed our stay. The lunches and dinners were genuinely top notch, and the staff was welcoming and service oriented. Our favorite parts included the wildlife boat tour, the fantastic pools, and get a complimentary room upgrade.
We also enjoyed heading to El Pueblito by golf cart and experiencing the FREE arcade! The kids club experience was somewhat of a downside. Seemed a lot of the skills required an extra fee and when we did pay for our son to spend a night there watching a movie so we could enjoy dinner, he was the only one there.
The water slide was broken in the family pool, which our son and several other kids were upset about and did not look like it was being repaired during our week long stay. Also, do not order the menu breakfast at La Laguna – just eat off of the buffet. The menu food just tasted like a cold, plated version picked off of the meal anyway.
Definitely more low key and great for families (not a lot of nightlife etc.), but we loved the sprawling nature of the resort and the animals all around. June was a great month as it wasn’t crowded so easy to get a table for dinner etc. We’ll definitely be back!
