We just finished another unique visit at Mahekal Beach Resort! This is our fourth family visit here (although my wife has come a few extra times with friends). The resort is great! The grounds are well groomed, and the rooms are charming. The amenities are impeccable.
The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you and they gave great riviera maya fly fishing suggestions. From Mariano and Gerardo at the poolside bars (mixing up tasty libations) to Angel, Ignacio and Manuel at the restaurant (all of whom remembered our sons and us) who met our culinary requests with immediacy, we could not ask to be better served.
We met some new folks: Jorge and Susanna at the concierge (helping us plan our day excursions); Tino (who helped with the luggage and set up the hammocks); Roque and Vicente at the other bar locations; and, Guillermo, Raul, Marco and Icela at the restaurant!
My friend and I got away to Playa del Carmen for a break from winter and R&R. When we first arrived, we were thrilled at the design and layout of the resort. Everyone was incredibly friendly. Our favorite was relaxing by the pool – Manolo was our server, and he was a highlight – made our trip so easy as he got to know us and was a joy to run into each day.
This is my second time staying at Mahèkal Beach Resort. I was here in April of this year, and it was so amazing that I had to return with my family. Everyone agrees the resort is absolutely beautiful, but the people are what makes it so unique.
The way everyone makes you feel from the moment you enter the property is loved and welcomed. Everyone who works here is kind and caring. The spa here is a must do, I had the hot stone massage for 80 minutes with Martha, and it was the best massage I have ever had.
Liz in the spa of the hotel is very kind and wants to make sure you have the best experience possible. Maria Elena is the General Manager, and she is as beautiful as she is accommodating.
